Rochester Food Resources

ree

If you are finding yourself in need of some support recently, whether that has to do with rising prices or limited benefits, we wanted to share some local Rochester resources where you can find a helping hand. One of the best things about the Greater Rochester area is the way that we come together to help our neighbors.

If you know of other local businesses or resources that should be added to this list, please email us at hello@rdnjen.com so that we can continue to modify this post.

  1. The Hideaway - 197 Park Avenue Offering a free lunch and non-alcoholic drink from 12-3pm every Thursday until the government is re-opened or benefits are fully reinstated.

  2. Equal Grounds Cafe - 750 South Avenue Free "Pay it Forward" Meals available on the community board. Meals can also be purchased at the cafe. The cafe plans to keep the board up and full through the holiday season.

  3. Foodlink Check their website to get information regarding SNAP benefits, finding food (lists of pantries, meal programs, and pop-ups supporting those in need), and ways to donate and assist your neighbors in this ongoing tough economic time.

  4. Pizza Wizard - 760 S Clinton Avenue Mutual aid cheese pizzas available on their board (25 daily) for those in need. Just walk in and grab a coupon form the board. Pizza Wizard is also planning pizza drop offs in the community to those in need.

  5. List of Food Pantries and Pop-Up Food Pantries A comprehensive list of Food Pantries in Rochester with addresses included.

  6. The Red Fern - 283 Oxford Street If you are in need of a meal, you can visit the cafe for a free Low Dough Burrito or a Soup-of-the-day Pint. The Low Dough Burrito is also being offered at a reduced price of $5 during the month of November. You can also contribute to the Community Meals Fund on the online store as well (excess funds will be donated to People's Pantry).

  7. Wegmans Gift Card Donations Local philanthropist Jeff Knauss has started a fund to offer grocery gift cards to those in need. Currently, applications are paused, but you are still able to donate to the fund should you have the ability to do so.

  8. The Bagel Shop by Fox's - 360 Park Avenue "A Breakfast for You" coupons available at the front counter for those in need - each good for a bagel with cream cheese and a hot coffee. You can also add a $5 "Spread the Love" donation to any order if you are able to contribute to the effort.

  9. Montgomery Court Coffee - 1241 Park Avenue Every day, Montgomery Court Coffee is making 30 breakfast sandwiches available to those in need - no proof needed. They will continue to offer this until SNAP funding is restored.

  10. The Crooked Crumble Offering free Birthday Cookie Cakes to families in need for children's birthdays. If you are able to contribute to the effort, you can do so through the link in their instagram bio here.
